Happy National Certified Nurses Day!

 Hello Members and Friends of the South Florida HPNA Chapter!

As today is National Certified Nurses Day, we want to honor all of you that are certified in a nursing specialty, especially those that are Hospice and Palliative Certified. Our chapter has provided many opportunities to assist our members with obtaining certification through study groups and day long education sessions covering core concepts required for HPNA certification. Please support our chapter with your presence at our virtual meetings and by becoming a member. We began meeting virtually in April 2020 and plan on continuing to meet virtually for the foreseeable future.  We have exciting plans for our meetings this year! The Board has decided to keep our dues at $20 a year which we believe is reasonable. As of now, no one is a member as no one has paid dues in the last year. We will be accepting dues by Zelle, Venmo or CashApp. Please email us via the website or nancy.auster@vitas.com for further information.  If you have any ideas for our chapter please let us know. We recently sent out a survey with very few responses. Thank you for all you have endured in this past year. Death and dying has never before been so “in our faces” as like this past year. Hospice and palliative care really became a top priority in all aspects of healthcare from critical care to nursing homes to outpatient areas, emergency departments and home.
